Product Hunt FAQ

What is GuideLayer?

GuideLayer enhances your abilities with the tools you already use, and helps you confidently master new ones. Ask on the fly, get verified in-context guidance, and compound ability on an Ability Map, not another disposable chat. Capture only when you ask. Inference uses the AI provider route you connect.

Who is it for?

People who want sharper abilities and better on-the-fly decisions, not a buddy-cursor overlay or an autopilot that finishes the task and leaves them no better tomorrow. Day-to-day work, onboarding, professionals leveling up in tools they already use and ones that are still new.

Do I need both Claude and Codex?

No. Connect one AI route that matches your setup, Codex with your existing subscription, or Claude with an Anthropic API key. You do not need both. GuideLayer does not route Claude through a Free/Pro/Max subscription login.

What stays private?

GuideLayer captures the active screen when you ask. Inference uses the AI provider route you connect. Keys for your own providers stay in Keychain. Screenshots are off unless you turn history on. Website download fulfillment and license verification are separate from that path.

Is this a subscription?

No. You get a 30-day full-feature trial. After that, Lite stays free forever for the core experience, or a $79 Full license covers the complete product on up to 3 Macs.

Is there a Product Hunt discount?

When a launch coupon is active, it is a time-boxed Product Hunt coupon, not the default price. Standard pricing is $79 one time. Check the offer note on this page when the launch window is live.
